The Trenton, New Jersey native Eddie Moylan was a key member of the men’s tennis team from 1940-43. He was part of the team that ran off 56 match victories in a row. The run included victories over SEC schools Alabama, Auburn, Ole Miss, Kentucky and defending Big Ten Champs Northwestern. Moylan was also an outstanding basketball player on The Hill, being named to the All-Dixie Conference Team. After serving in Navy during World War 2, Moylan went on to play in several US and Australian Opens, was a member of US Davis Cup team as both Captain and then a Coach winning a Gold Medal in the Pan American Games. Moylan was ranked as high as 10th in the world. Moylan won the Eastern Clay Court Championships three times in succession from 1954-1956. Eddie taught and served as the tennis and squash coach at Cornell University from 1962-1972.
