Delmas was a three-sport athlete that displayed his ability throughout his career on The Hill. On the football field, his lion-like strength was used advantageously on the defense. Offensively, he credited his teammates with a plethora of extra yardage, not only through his side of the line, but in his ability to snag passes on trick formations. "Milt" was a tower of strength both on the defense and offense. Few plays were run through his side of the line and when it was necessary to push back the opponent's forward wall, Delmas was the man to do it. His speed enabled him to get down under punts and nab the return man before he could get started back. Delmas played both outfield and first base for the Badgers. His bat that made the opposing teams concerned. He was known as a hard-hitting slugger who often hit for extra bases. He played on some of the best baseball teams the Hill has ever produced. He was a key member of the 1927 baseball team that went undefeated versus college competition. He also lettered in varsity basketball.
