As a freshman, Imorde helped Spring Hill College rebound from a disappointing 1-12 squad in 1957 to go 8-4 in 1958. During Imorde’s four years on The Hill, the Badgers Tennis Program held an impressive 38-9 record, including wins against the likes of Alabama, Southern Miss, Troy and Louisiana. He holds a 29-18 career record in the No. 1 singles spot. He was also a stand out in doubles with teammate Bill Tordella. Joe excelled off the court as well, holding the position of SGA Vice-President from 1959–1961. He was a member of Alpha Sigma Nu, the Jesuit Honor Society, and “Who’s Who” for scholarship and leadership achievement. After graduation, Joe was one of three principals that started the largest class endowed scholarship supporting Spring Hill College, The Class of 1961 Endowed Scholarship, which is now in its 19th year.
