The Mobile native and McGill-Toolen Catholic High School graduate was one of the first recruits for the inaugural women’s golf team in 1992. As a freshman, Cookie was considered one of the top performers and invited to the Women’s NAIA National Invitational Golf Championship. The inaugural Badger squad finished fourth in the final national poll. The 1993-94 campaign was even better for the second-year program, the Badgers finished third at the first-ever NAIA National Women’s Golf Championship, where Cookie had a strong showing, finishing eighth individually. In her junior year, Cookie once again helped the Badgers to their second-straight national tourney, where the team placed fifth while Strong Krehling finished ninth and earned NAIA All-American honors. Her final season on the Hill might have been the best; Cookie helped the Badgers to a runner-up finish in the NAIA National Tourney, where again she was named an All-American. As a pioneer of women’s golf at Spring Hill, Cookie is still considered one of the best golfers in the program's history.
