The Batesville, Indiana native arrived on the Hill in 1992 as a women’s golf and basketball recruit. As a freshman, Smith helped the inaugural women’s golf team to a No. 4 ranking in the final NAIA Poll. Meg was a key member of the women’s golf program that earned three consecutive national tournament appearances, including a runner-up finish in 1993-94. Smith was recognized in 1996 as a NAIA Honorable Mention All-American. On the basketball court, Meg was known for her deadly outside shooting. Smith helped the Badgers to four consecutive winning seasons. As a junior, Meg’s three-point shooting percentage of 49% was the best in the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference. As a junior, two sports were not enough for Meg so she joined the women’s tennis team, becoming a rare three-sport athlete. During her senior year, Meg was named a NAIA All-American Scholar Athlete. Meg was extremely active on campus and was voted senior class orator by her peers.
