Douville was a two-sport star on the Hill. His ability in football and baseball helped the Badgers to some of the best seasons in school history. As a captain in football, he was known as an outstanding tackle who could open holes for the backs. On defense, he was a menace in the opposing team’s backfields. He helped the Badgers to 7-1 and 6-2 seasons, both of which included undefeated runs in SIAA play. He was awarded All-SIAA honors in both years. As an outstanding baseball player, "Bob" was known for a big bat, but he was also very good on the bump. During the 1930 baseball season, Captain Bob Douville pitched a four-hit 6-1 victory over Wisconsin. He also threw a three-hit shutout and 6-1 win against Tulane. The Badgers finished the 1930 season 9-2 verse college teams with wins over Wisconsin, Tulane and LSU.
