Jennifer “Jip” Cunningham was a member of the Badger Softball team during the 1998 and 1999 seasons. Her 50 wins as a pitcher in the first two seasons helped put the new softball program on the map with an 85-32-1 record. As a junior college transfer from Gulf Coast State College in Panama City, Fla., the Louisiana native helped lead the Badgers to the 1999 Gulf Coast Athletic Conference Title and a third-place finish in the NAIA National Tournament. In her two seasons, Cunningham was a two-time NAIA All-American, two-time All-GCAC selection, NAIA National Player of the Week, GCAC Player of the Year in 1998 and GCAC Pitcher of the Year in 1999. Jip is still ranked in the program record books in many categories including second in career wins (50), shutouts (26), strikeouts (585) and first in career opponents on base percentage (.114).
