Stephen Quina ('96) established himself as one of the most accomplished pitchers in Spring Hill College baseball history, anchoring the Badgers' pitching staff from 1993-96 and cementing his place among the program's all-time greats.

A two-time team captain, Quina made 46 career starts and compiled a 23-11 record with a 3.17 earned run average across 272.2 innings pitched. During his career, he set Spring Hill records for games started in a career and batters faced, while also ranking among the program's leaders in victories and strikeouts. His durability and consistency made him the Badgers' dependable Friday night starter throughout his collegiate career.

Quina's senior season in 1996 was among the finest by a pitcher in program history. He earned All-GCAC honors after setting school records for games started in a season and batters faced, making 18 starts and facing 478 batters. He also set the school record for strikeouts in a seven-inning game with 12. His signature moment came in his final collegiate start, when he tossed a complete-game victory over No. 1-ranked Dallas Baptist, one of the most memorable wins in Spring Hill baseball history.

In recognition of his outstanding career, Quina was named the 1996 Spring Hill College National Alumni Association Male Athlete of the Year. Beyond the statistics and accolades, he remains one of the program's most respected alumni and a steadfast supporter of Spring Hill athletics.
