Tim Hilpert starred for the Badger baseball team from 1995 to 1998. The Mobile native and McGill-Toolen Catholic High School product started at third base for the Hill. As a sophomore, Hilpert helped lead the Badgers to a NAIA Regional appearance and top-15 ranking in the final NAIA poll. During his junior season, Tim hit a blistering .402 to lead the Badgers to a Gulf Coast Athletic Conference Tournament Championship and NAIA Regional. Hilpert was a four-time All-Gulf Coast Athletic Conference honoree who earned a spot on the 1997 All-Southwest Regional Team. As a four-year starter, SHC Hall of Fame Coach Frank Sims referred to Hilpert as “One of the best pure hitters I’ve ever coached.” At the time of his graduation, Tim held several SHC career records, including a career batting average of .348, 731 career at-bats, 255 career hits, 449 assists, 339 total bases and 209 career appearances. Tim remains active in Mobile, coaching youth baseball.
