Coach Martin arrived at Spring Hill College in 2009 after a record-setting career at the University of Central Missouri. At Central Missouri, Martin led the volleyball program to 33 consecutive winning seasons compiling over 1,000 wins. It took short work for Coach Martin to rejuvenate the struggling Badgers, from 2010 to 2014 Martin’s Badgers won four-straight Southern States Athletic Conference West Division titles, two SSAC regular season championships with three NAIA National Tournament appearances. In its first season as a full NCAA Division II member in 2018, Coach Martin’s Badger squad had a perfect 17-0 conference record, winning its first of five-straight Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championships with five NCAA Division II National Tournament appearances. In 2019, Peggy earned her 1,375th win to become the all-time leader in wins as a collegiate volleyball coach. Since joining the SIAC, Martin has amassed a remarkable record of 162 conference wins and one loss, earning SIAC Coach of the Year three times. In 2015, Coach Martin established Spring Hill College’s Beach Volleyball program, with her insight and direction, the Sandy Badgers earned national runner-up finishes on three occasions at the AVCA Small College Championships. Peggy is a member of several sports hall of fames including the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame, University of Central Missouri Athletic Hall of Fame, the American Volleyball Coaches Association Hall of Fame and the Mobile Sports Hall of Fame, where she joined her father Bill in 2006.
