The 6-4 Smith was voted three times to the Gulf Coast Athletic Conferenc (GCAC) All-Conference Team in ’83-84, ’84-85 and ’85-86. For three straight seasons, Smith averaged a double-double. As a sophomore she averaged 14.7 points and 11.1 rebounds per game. Her junior year she averaged 16.8 points and 11.5 rebounds per game and as a senior she averaged 19.7 points and 10.9 rebounds per game. Upon Smith’s graduation she was the program leader in career points scored (1471), career rebounds (1041), most blocks in a game, most blocks in a season, career rebounds average and most field goals in a career. Although many of those records have since been eclipsed, Smith is still in the top 5 in many categories.
