ORLANDO – The Spring Hill men's tennis team split the final day of the SIAC Roundup, falling 4-3 at the hands of Tuskegee before bouncing back with a 6-0 win over LeMoyne-Owen. The loss in Saturday's opener snaps a streak of 36 consecutive wins against conference opponents that dated back to the 2022 season.
Â
Match Details:
Spring Hill took the doubles point in the opener against Tuskegee, but after TU pulled even with a Court 6 win, Thom Gutermann put the Badgers back in front with a dominant win in the top flight.
Evan Patton made it a 3-1 advantage with a 7-5, 6-1 victory on Court 5, but the Golden Tigers followed with three straight wins to claim the victory. Â
Â
LeMoyne-Owen did not have enough eligible players, forcing doubles action to be skipped entirely in the finale. All five Badgers that competed in singles play won easily, with
Luke Tucker picking up a win by default in the final flight.
