Badgers falter in battle of SIAC’s top two teams

PEACHTREE CITY, Ga. – The Spring Hill men's tennis team was hit with a 4-2 loss on Saturday afternoon, falling 4-2 in the SIAC Championship against Tuskegee. The Badgers defeated LeMoyne-Owen on Friday to earn their way to the finals, while Tuskegee knocked off Benedict on the other side of the bracket.
 
Match Details:
The Badgers started Saturday by earning the doubles point, as the duo of Tom Gutermann and Filipe Grebenstov won the top flight by a final of 6-2. Luke Tucker and Will Huckell teamed up for a 7-5 win in the second flight, giving Spring Hill the early 1-0 advantage.
 
Luke Bedwell came away with a singles victory on Court 4, doing so with a score of 6-0, 6-2. The Golden Tigers ensured the Badgers would get no closer, however, as Tuskegee picked up four singles wins to earn the clinch and the SIAC crown.
