MOBILE, Ala. – The Spring Hill women's tennis team began the spring season on Friday afternoon, defeating Shorter 5-2. The win is the first for the Badgers in a season opener since the 2013 campaign, when they defeated Loyola 9-0.

Shorter won the first doubles flight, but Spring Hill responded with wins on Courts 2 and 3 to pick up the first point of the day. Sophomore
Claire Bosman won the top singles flight by a score of 6-1, 6-3, with
Brooke Powers' 6-2, 6-3 win on Court 3 giving the Badgers three points as a team.
Laci Pyron picked up a quick win on Court 5, earning the Badgers a clinch and their first victory of the young season.
