Spring Hill men defeat Shorter to earn first victory

MOBILE, Ala. – The Spring Hill men's tennis team picked up the first win of the season on Friday afternoon, knocking off Shorter by a tally of 5-2. The Badgers improve to 1-2 on the year, including a 1-1 mark against non-Division I programs.
 
Match Details:
Shorter won the first point with wins on the top two courts, but the Badgers responded with five straight wins to begin singles action. Filipe Grebenstov was the first of those, earning a 6-3, 6-3 win in the top flight, followed by Cristobal Rios' 6-2, 6-3 win on Court 6.
 
Will Huckell came away with a 6-2, 6-1 victory in the fifth flight, and Evan Patton followed suit with a win on Court 4. Tom Ruel closed out the scoring for Spring Hill, defeating Shorter's Guido Loayza in Court 2.

The Badgers are back in action on Tuesday, when they leave the state for the first time this spring for a visit to Mississippi College. Spring Hill will take on MC on Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. and Delta State the following afternoon, with both matches being held in Clinton.
