PENSACOLA, Fla. – The Spring Hill College volleyball team fell in its season opener, 3-2, to No. 15 Southwest Minnesota State at the UWF Field House on Thursday.

The Badgers (0-1) fell to the No. 15-ranked Mustangs (1-0) in the season opener. The opener was played at the SpringHill Suites Invitational, hosted by West Florida.

Three newcomers made their debut for SHC in the season opener.
Monica Vargo led the team with 38 assists in the match.

Claire Hayes led the team with 19 assists and freshman
Quinn Thurman debuted with a .400 clip.

Spring Hill led defensively with 102 digs, 27 of which came from the SIAC Preseason Defensive Player of the Year,
Ashlyn Whiteside.
