FRANKFORT, Ky. – The Spring Hill College softball team secured the final SIAC series of the regular season with a thrilling 6-5 extra-inning victory over Kentucky State on Sunday.

Emma Curry (W: 9-5); Theresa Pelland (L: 4-6)
Spring Hill (23-18, 18-4 SIAC) pulled out the win against Kentucky State (11-20, 9-11 SIAC) in a contest that lasted 10 innings.
In the second, Jesslyn Gordon opened scoring with an RBI single. In the following inning, Rycca Hinton and McKenzie King extended the Badgers' lead to 3-0 over the Thorobreds.
However, Kentucky State responded with a three-run inning in the fourth to tie the game at 3-3. Natalee Curry drove in a run in the sixth to break the tie before KSU took the lead with a two-RBI single.
Oscha Carter tied the game at 5-5 in the seventh off an error, which sent the game into extra innings. Destiny Pierce drove in the winning run in the top of the 10th with an RBI single through the left side.
Leighanna Turk made her 16th start of the season, striking out two and scattering two earned runs across 4.0 innings of work. Emma Curry (9-5) closed the game with 4.2, six strikeouts and just two hits.
