MOBILE, Ala. – The Spring Hill College baseball team opened the SIAC series against Morehouse with an 11-5 win at Sims-Galle Field on Friday.

Bryce Anderson led the Badgers (29-9, 22-2 SIAC) at the plate with a 3-for-4 outing that included a triple, two runs and two RBIs. He scored the go-ahead run for SHC on a wild pitched in the second.

The Maroon Tigers (16-18, 10-15 SIAC) opened scoring in the top of the second. Spring Hill responded in their half of the inning with a pair of runs to take a 2-1 lead.

Jack Taylor sacrificed to left field to score another run in the third. A bases-loaded hit by pitch in the sixth brough Morehouse back within one, 3-2.

SHC pieced together another two-run inning in the sixth to jump back ahead, 5-3. The Maroon Tigers cut the lead to one run again in the seventh.

The Badgers scored three more runs in the seventh, capped of by an RBI double from
Eli Benoit. Morehouse was only able to score one more run in the eighth, making it 8-5 in favor of SHC.

Spring Hill tacked on three more insurance runs in the eighth, including Anderson's RBI triple.

Korey Bunselmeyer got the win on the mound with three strikeouts, three walks and two earned runs in 6.0 innings.
Cooper Symmons closed the game with a hitless inning.
