Badgers Fall in Doubleheader to #20 Mobile

MOBILE, Ala.- The Spring Hill College Softball team was swept in Friday's doubleheader against crosstown rival No. 20 Mobile at the UM Softball Field.
 
In the first game, the Rams (2-0, 0-0 SSAC) scored three runs in the second inning and took an early lead over Spring Hill (1-6, 0-0 SIAC). The Badgers clawed their way back in the fourth and sixth, scoring three runs of their own to tie the game up.
 
In the fourth, McKenzie King sent Abigail Christ home to get Spring Hill on the board. Taylor Pittman blasted the first home run for the Badgers to left in the sixth. Kayla Coley-Drayton singled later in the inning, which brought Destiny Pierce across the plate.
 
The Rams responded with a late surge in the bottom of the sixth, scoring three runs to retake the lead.
 
Emma Curry (1-2) and Bethany Ahrens stepped in the circle for the Badgers and combined for two strikeouts.
 
In the second game, Rycca Hinton struck out three across 5.0 innings. Leighanna Turk closed the game with one strikeout.
 
Offensively, Amanda Glowacki, Oscha Carter, King and Pittman each found a hit for the Badgers.
