MOBILE, Ala. – The Spring Hill College baseball team's comeback efforts were stifled by West Alabama on Tuesday. The Badgers fell short, 12-8, at Sims-Galle Field.

The Tigers (9-7, 4-2 GSC) opened scoring with nine-straight runs across the third and fourth inning. The Badgers (7-8, 5-1 SIAC) got on the board in the fifth when
Nick Hunter knocked a two-run single through the right side.

Jackson Bell hit an RBI double on the first pitch down the left field line to add another run.
AJ Swader grounded out to second to bring Hunter home and cut the deficit further.

Seth Williams singled to first and brought Bell home to make it a 9-5 game. West Alabama's Nick Wilson sacrificed in the sixth, making it 10-5, UWA.

Eli Benoit pinch hit a two-run homer in the bottom of the sixth and kept the Badgers within striking distance. A two-run double by the Tigers made it 12-7. Spring Hill's rally efforts fell short with a single run in the eighth.

Hunter and Benoit both led the Badgers with two hits and two RBIs apiece. Bell extended his hitting streak to 12 games and Williams brought his streak to 10 games.

On the mound,
Isaac Crabb suffered the loss while striking out five batters across 4.0 innings. The Badger pitching staff combined for 13 strikeouts on the night.
