BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Spring Hill College women's soccer forward Poppy Binding was named to the 2024 Women's Soccer Preseason All-GSC Team, while midfielder Riley Davis appeared on the conference Newcomer Watchlist, the league announced Tuesday.
 
The poll and preseason team were voted on by the league's head coaches, who were unable to vote for their own team or student-athletes.
 
Binding earned the preseason league honor after becoming the first-ever player in program history to earn a spot on the All-GSC Second Team last season. She followed this up with the team's first Division 2 Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) All-Region First Team award.
 
The Essex, England native made her debut with the Badgers last season. The redshirt junior midfielder immediately made impacts on the pitch. At the end of the regular season, Binding ranked second in the GSC in goals and among the top-20 scorers in Division II. She also ranked fourth in the conference with 23 points on the year.
 
Davis, a Jones College transfer out of Lucedale, Miss., appeared on the 2024 GSC Women's Soccer Newcomer Watchlist. She will join the Badgers on the pitch this year after racking up multiple accolades at the junior college level. In 2023, she was named a NJCAA First-Team All-American, First Team All-MACCC, NJCAA All-Region 23 and helped the Bobcats to a NJCAA National Championship. As a freshman, she became the school's first-ever NJCAA First Team All-American while collecting first team all-conference and all-region honors.
