MOBILE, Ala. – The Spring Hill College baseball team shutout and run-ruled LeMoyne-Owen, 23-0, in Friday's SIAC series opener at Sims-Galle Field.

Eli Benoit led the Badgers (21-14, 16-6 SIAC) and had a perfect day at the plate (4-4) while tying the single-game program record with nine RBI. He also hit a grand slam, scored three runs and doubled twice during the rout of the Magicians (1-22, 1-20 SIAC).

Evan Langston (4-2) earned the win on the mound after striking out three batters and only conceding a single hit across 3.0 innings.

Spring Hill recorded its second shutout, most runs scored (23) and most RBI (22) of the season.
Seth Williams increased his reached base streak to 25 games while
Jack Taylor added a 22
nd game to his.

Benoit and
Jackson Bell, who also recorded a grand slam, became the second and third players on the team to record a five-plus RBI game this season. Izzy Carerra recorded a team-leading four runs scored in a single game this season.

How It Happened
- B2 | Benoit doubled to right center to score Parker Serio and Carerra before Bell smashed a grand slam over the left field wall, Spring Hill 6-0.
- B3 | Benoit hit another double down the left field line to bring home Serio and Carerra. Ethan Valdez doubled and brought Benoit across the plate. Bell singled through the left side and brought John Webb home. With the bases loaded LeMoyne-Owen's pitcher hit Jack Taylor, scoring a run. Following that a wild pitch allowed Bell to score. Serio capped the inning off with a two-run RBI single to left field, bringing Taylor and Williams home, Spring Hill 14-0.
- B4 | Taylor hit a sacrifice fly to left field to score Webb. Serio took a four-pitch walk with the bases loaded, bringing Jon Barnard across home plate. Benoit hit the second grand slam of the day over the left field wall. Luke Sweeney singled, advanced to second on an error by the center fielder and scored a run on the same play, Spring Hill 21-0.
- B5 | Benoit batted in his ninth run of the night on a single through the left side. Sweeney was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded, bringing home Carerra, Spring Hill 23-0.
