CLINTON, Miss. – The Spring Hill College men's soccer team (5-7-3, 5-4-2 GSC) defeated No. 4-seeded Mississippi College (8-5-3, 6-4-1 GSC), 2-2 (4-2), in the quarterfinal round of the 2024 GSC Men's Soccer Championship at Robert P. Longabaugh Field Saturday.

Alessandro Abate got things started early with a goal in the fifth minute. He was assisted by sophomore forward
Adrian Rodriguez.
Martin Gomez made two saves on six shots faced in the opening half.

Alessandro Merlo extended the Spring Hill lead in the opening minutes of the second half off a rebound. The Choctaws got on the board in the 53
rd minute.

Mississippi College tied the match in the 65
th minute and neither team pulled ahead before the end of regulation. The match remained tied through overtime as well.

The Badgers won in penalty kicks, 4-2, and clinched their spot in the GSC Semifinals for the first time since 2021.
