HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – The Spring Hill College men's soccer team's (5-8-3, 5-4-2 GSC) postseason run came to an end after it fell 4-2 to No. 1-seeded West Florida (11-1-4, 7-0-4 GSC) in the Gulf South Conference Championship semifinal at Loretta P. Spencer Sports Complex Championship Field on Thursday.

West Florida jumped ahead to an early 2-0 lead with goals in the fourth and 29
th minutes.
Alessandro Abate headed a cross from
Brice Screws into the goal in the 41
st minute to make it a one-goal game going into halftime.

The Argonauts tapped another goal through in the 53
rd minute. UWF was awarded a penalty kick in the 63
rd minute and scored to extend its lead 4-1.

Adrian Rodriguez scored a penalty kick in the 77
th minute and cut the West Florida lead to 4-2.

West Florida rattled off 13 shots to Spring Hill's nine. Eight of the Argos' shots were placed on target, while the Badgers recorded six on goal. Both goalkeepers made four saves apiece.

Abate led the Badgers with a goal and three shots on target. Rodriguez recorded a goal on two shots.
