MOBILE, Ala. – The Spring Hill College baseball team fell, 23-4, to West Florida in a non-conference mid-week game at Sims-Galle Field on Wednesday.
Spring Hill (24-17, 16-1 SIAC) was led by
Ethan Valdez, who went 3-for-1 with a RBI grand slam. West Florida improved to 26-14 on the season with its road win.
The Argonauts took a 9-0 lead by the third inning before the Badgers answered when Valdez belted a grand slam over the right field wall, his first on the Hill. West Florida scored in every inning except the fifth and took the 23-4 run-rule victory over Spring Hill in seven innings.
Jacob Heath (2-3) received the win on the mound for UWF, while
Kai St. Germaine (5-3) suffered the loss for SHC.
