MOBILE, Ala. – The Spring Hill College baseball team completed a three-game Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) sweep of Morehouse at Sims-Galle Field on Friday.
Spring Hill (24-16, 16-1 SIAC) was led by
Ethan Valdez, who went 2-for-4 with three runs during the game. Morehouse fell to 15-18-1 overall and 13-16 in conference play in the loss.
Both teams put up a run in the first inning before the Badgers broke the tie in the second inning with two runs to go up 3-2. SHC scored four more unanswered runs across the fourth, fifth and sixth innings and took a 7-1 lead. The Maroon Tigers plated their final run of the game in the seventh to make it a 7-2 game. Spring Hill brought in three more runs in the eighth, capped off by an inside-the-park home run from
Jackson Bell. Spring Hill completed the three-game conference series sweep of Morehouse with the 10-2 victory.
Evan Langston took the win on the mound, scattering three hits while striking out nine batters across seven innings. Jaiden Proper suffered the loss for the Maroon Tigers.
