Seven Badger Soccer student-athletes earn Academic All-District honors

MOBILE, Ala. – Seven total Spring Hill College student-athletes from the men's and women's soccer teams were named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Teams on Tuesday.
 
Four Badgers represented the women's soccer team for the first time in program history. Ashley Drennon, Hannah Fromme, Hannah Pitts and Carlotta Stark all received All-District honors for the first time.
 
2023 CSC All-District WSOC

 
Drennon made 13 starts while appearing in all 18 matches for SHC this season. She tallied one goal, one assist, 12 shots and placed six on goal. The sophomore from Rockwall, Texas is a psychology major that holds a 3.81 GPA.
 
Fromme started in all 18 matches for Spring Hill this year. The defender scored three goals, two of which came in an 11-0 shutout victory over Point, dished out two assists, took six shots and placed three on target. The sophomore from Cologne, Germany is a pre-med major that holds a 3.96 GPA.
 
Pitts made seven starts in 17 appearances on the pitch. The Mobile native helped the Badgers to three shutout victories during the season. The redshirt junior is a nursing major that holds a 3.84 GPA.
 
Stark started in 17 appearances between the posts for the Badgers. The sophomore keeper posted a .676 save percentage while facing 210 shots. She led the team to two of its three shutout victories. The Aalen, Germany native is a political science major that holds a 3.93 GPA.
 
Alessandro Abate, Alberto Aletta and Rutger Hesselink represented the men's squad as the first three to appear on the All-District Team since the spring of 2021.
 
2023 CSC All-District MSOC

 
Abate made 13 starts across 16 appearances for Spring Hill. The sophomore defender helped the Badgers to two shutout victories. The Rome, Italy native is a business administration major that holds a 3.76 GPA.
 
Aletta started in all 16 of his appearances on the pitch this season. The junior from Campobasso, Italy led the Badger back line to two shutout victories. He is a business major that holds a 3.71 GPA.
 
Hesselink made 16 starts and appeared in all 17 matches for SHC. The defender from Enschede, Overijssel, Netherlands helped the Spring Hill defense put together both of its shutout wins. He also tallied a goal and two assists. The junior is is majoring in international business and holds a 3.72 GPA.
