Hall of Fame Highlight – David Weems
MOBILE, Ala. – The Spring Hill College Department of Athletics will induct baseball alumnus David Weems ('95) into the SHC Hall of Fame on October 16 Byrne Memorial Hall.

Weems was the definition of toughness and consistency — a four-year starter whose competitive spirit set the tone for one of the most successful eras in Spring Hill baseball history.

As a freshman in 1992, Weems helped the Badgers set a school record with 40 wins and capture the District 30 Championship while hitting .312 from the leadoff spot. The following year, he anchored the infield at shortstop as the Badgers won the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference Championship and posted the best team fielding percentage in school history at .972.

Weems hit .329 as a sophomore with 14 doubles and a team-leading 32 RBIs, showcasing both his defensive prowess and offensive reliability. Over his career, he ranked fourth all-time in fielding percentage (.952), drew 102 walks, and maintained a .307 career batting average.

During Weems' four seasons, the Badgers won an impressive 138 games. SHC Hall of Fame head coach Frank Sims called him "one of the best shortstops I ever coached — if not the best."

Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony and Dinner ticket options include Individual ($75) and Reserved Table of Eight ($600) and can be purchased here.
