MOBILE, Ala. – The Spring Hill College men's soccer team opened its Gulf South Conference (GSC) campaign with a 0-0 draw against the University of West Alabama on Friday.

Hugo Frivold attempted to get things going for the Badgers early with a shot on target at 18:16, the shot was stopped by UWA goalkeeper Harry Deveney. Frivold tried again in the second half at 48:59 but was once again met by Deveney. The match ended in a 0-0 draw, the first for SHC this season.

"I was looking for a response from our boys after a couple of poor performances and I got it. If we are going to compete like we did today, we will be just fine. I think that a draw is a fair result as both teams had their chances. Looking forward to seeing how the boys will be on Sunday in another tough GSC game in Huntsville."
