Badgers sweep Bobcats in final match at Springhill Suites Invitational

PENSACOLA, Fla. – The Spring Hill College volleyball team finished play at the Springhill Suites Invitational with a 3-0 sweep of Lees-McRae at the Springhill Suites Invitational on Saturday.
 
Spring Hill defeated Lees-McRae in straight sets (25-12, 25-13, 25-11) and improved to 2-1 on the season. The Badgers took commanding leads in all three sets.
 
The first set featured four uninterrupted scoring runs by SHC, including a six-point run at the end where Emily Weinzapfel recorded three kills. The second set was tied at eight apiece when Spring Hill had an eight-point run with more help from Weinzapfel and six assists from Jessica Fairly. The Badgers had a .400 hitting percentage and 12 kills to Lees-McRae's six in the final set.

- The match was the first meeting between the schools.
- Spring Hill led in every statistical category: points (54), kills (43), aces (6), blocks (5), assists (36) and digs (51).
- Weinzapfel led the match with 12 kills, followed by Airyonna Weaver with seven and Jaylyne Bell with six.
- Kassandra Fairly, Brooke Borgmeyer and Hallie Hallmon each recorded two aces.
- Fairly led the match with an outstanding 21 assists.
- Mikala Boyer led the match with 18 digs on the day.
