Badger Baseball swept by Savannah State

MOBILE, Ala. (March 6, 2022) – The Spring Hill College (SHC) Badgers baseball team lost both ends of a Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) doubleheader versus the Savannah State University (SSU) Tigers on Sunday afternoon at historic Stan Galle Field by the scores of 13-9 and 5-3.
 
Enrico Peele (4-1) pitched the Tigers (12-5; 8-1 SIAC East) to the win in Game One in 5.2 innings pitched with three hits allowed, six walks and five strikeouts. Logan Clark (1-2) took the loss in 2.2 innings with five hits, two walks and seven strikeouts. Jackson Short pitched 6.0 innings, allowing 12 hits with two walks and seven strikeouts.
 
Third baseman Cam Brock had two hits with a double and three RBI.
 
Game Two saw Jared Showalter (3-0) pitch six innings for SSU with seven hits, a walk and six strikeouts while Matthew Terril picked up his second save of the year with one inning of one-hit effort with two strikeouts. Kaleb Bush (1-1) took the loss with 4.0 innings that included six hits, three walks and seven strikeouts.
 
Shortstop Norris McClure had two hits with a double and two RBI.
 
The Badgers (6-8; 0-3 SIAC West) will play a Covid-delayed make-up doubleheader on Wednesday versus SIAC opponent the Morehouse College Maroon Tigers (2-8; 2-3 SIAC East) at 1 p.m. in Atlanta, Ga.
