Badgers pound Panthers, 13-3

MOBILE, Ala. (March 26, 2022) – The Spring Hill College (SHC) Badgers baseball team defeated the Clark Atlanta University (CAU) Panthers 13-3 in a Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) contest at historic Stan Galle Field on Saturday night.

The Badger offense was slow on the uptake as SHC fell behind 3-1 after the first two innings of play, but once it found its stride it accelerated through the finish line with a 7-run 7th and final inning in a Mercy Rule shortened game.

Center fielder Gage Ragona went 4-for-4 with his 10th double and second home run of the year while shortstop Norris McClure belted three hits for three RBI. First baseman Micah Morgan slapped two hits, including his 11th double of the campaign as catcher Daniel Seres also found a single and a double.

Colin Millar improved to 4-3 on the year in 5.0 innings of relief, giving up no hits and one walk with seven strikeouts. Conner Ingram worked two innings in the start with three hits, four walks and three strikeouts.

Asa Waites (2-3) took the loss for CAU in 6.1 innings allowing 11 hits and three walks with three strikeouts.

The Badgers (14-9; 6-4 SIAC West) will host the Panthers (7-20; 1-9 SIAC East) at Stan Galle Field again on Sunday in a 1 p.m. doubleheader.
