Badgers steamroll past UWA Tigers, 18-4

MOBILE, Ala. (March 23, 2022) – The Spring Hill College (SHC) Badgers baseball team defeated the University of West Alabama (UWA) Tigers 18-4 non-conference outcome at historic Stan Galle Field on Wednesday evening.

SHC used a 6-run 1st inning highlighted by two 2-run homers by first baseman Micah Morgan and shortstop Norris McClure to put the Tigers (7-21) in an early hole and continued to roll, building a 15-1 lead after three innings.

SHC used six pitchers in the game to limit UWA to four hits and five walks with seven strikeouts. Colin Millar (3-3) took the win in 1.0 innings of no-hit work with one strikeout.

The Tigers put seven pitchers on the hill, surrendering 15 hits, and eight walks with four strikeouts. Starter Payton Graben (0-1) took the loss in his collegiate debut, lasting just one-third of an inning with four hits and one walk.

At the plate, McClure had three hits with five RBI as six Badgers enjoyed a multiple-hits night.
