Badgers sweep past Tigers, 13-2

MOBILE, Ala. (March 13, 2022) – The Spring Hill College (SHC) Badgers baseball team finished a 3-game Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) series sweep of the Benedict College (BC) Tigers on Sunday afternoon with a 13-2 victory at historic Stan Galle Field.

Kaleb Bush improved to 2-1 on the year with a 5-inning start in which he allowed three hits and five walks with eight strikeouts. Jack Lahr picked up his first save of the season entering the game with a 5-2 Badger lead in the 6th inning and allowing just one hit and a walk with one strikeout before the Badgers erupted for four runs in both the 6th and 7th innings to earn the 10-run Mercy Rule win.

Badger 1st baseman Micah Morgan added his 4th and 5th home runs of the year for six RBI in the contest while Gage Ragona, Bryce Walker, and Cam Brock each enjoyed 2-hit performances at the plate. In total, SHC racked up 11 hits and seven walks.

Jorge Baez (1-2) took the loss in six innings, surrendering nine hits and five walks with two strikeouts.

The Badgers (9-8; 3-3 SIAC West) will travel to Livingston, Ala. on Wednesday to take on the University of West Alabama (UWA) Tigers (5-17) at 3 p.m. on Tartt Field.
