Badgers split results in DH at UMobile

MOBILE, Ala. (February 18, 2022) – The Spring Hill College (SHC) Badgers baseball team split a non-conference road doubleheader at the University of Mobile Rams by dropping the first game 8-5, but rebounding to win the nightcap 16-4 on Friday at Mike Jacobs Field.

The Rams (9-4) jumped out to a 6-1 lead after four innings of the first game, but the Badgers rallied to cut the deficit to 6-5 headed into the stretch. Mobile responded with two runs in the bottom of the 7th inning and Haden Parker earned his first save of the year by closing out the final two innings with no hits and two strikeouts.

Conner Ingram (1-1) took the loss in four innings of work with two hits, five walks and one strikeout while Tucker Musgrove (1-1) took home the win in six full innings with three hits, two walks and six strikeouts.

In the second contest, the Badgers turned the tables on the Rams by taking a 10-2 lead after five innings before exploding for six runs in the 7th inning highlighted by a designated hitter Bryson Kirk Grand Slam. Kirk finished with a 3-for-5 outing with seven RBI.

Michael Romano (1-1) earned the win in four innings with five hits, one walk and one strikeout while Logan Clark picked up his first save of the season in three innings with four hits, two walks and five strikeouts.

The Badgers racked up 11 hits and 10 walks with 8 strikeouts against 5 Ram pitchers.

The Badgers (5-4) will host the Rams in the rubber game of this series on Saturday at historic Stan Galle Field beginning at 2 p.m.
