COLUMBUS, Ga. (February 13, 2022) – The Spring Hill College (SHC) Badgers baseball team lost both ends of a non-conference doubleheader at the 12
th-ranked Columbus State University (CSU) Cougars by the scores of 16-4 and 11-6 on Sunday afternoon at Burger King Stadium at Ragsdale Field.
SHC grabbed an early 4-0 lead over the Cougars (6-1) in the opener with a 4-run outburst in the top of the 1
st inning, but a 2-run homer by CSU halved the advantage to 4-2 in the bottom of the frame. A solo shot by CSU later in the inning made it just a 4-3 Badger lead.
A 3-run 2
nd inning by the Cougars put SHC in a 6-3 hole from which the Badgers never recovered.
Five Badger pitchers allowed 13 hits and eight walks with five strikeouts as
Logan Clark (1-1) took the loss in 2.1 innings of work. Noah Windhorst (2-0) earned the win in 5.0 innings with eight hits, two walks and three strikeouts.

Grant Akridge was 3-for-4 with a double and an RBI while shortstop
Norris McClure 2-for-4 with a double.
The nightcap saw the Badgers fall behind 2-0 after two innings before falling 11-6 in the final score.
Five Badger pitchers combined to surrender 13 hits and three walks with four strikeouts as
Michael Romano (0-1) took the 2-inning loss allowing eight hits with one strikeout.
Micah Morgan had two hits with a home run, a double and three RBI while
Gage Ragona added two hits with a double and an RBI. Colton Joyner (1-0) of CSU earned the win in 5.0 innings with four hits, two walks and four strikeouts.
The Badgers (4-2) will host long-time rival the University of Montevallo Falcons (6-0) at historic Stan Galle Field on Wednesday at 3 p.m.
