MOBILE, Ala. – The Spring Hill College women's basketball team fell 74-57 to Albany State in its conference opener at the Arthur R. Outlaw Recreation Center on Saturday.

The Badgers were down by eight points (23-15) after the first quarter but cut the deficit to one by halftime (37-36). Both teams scored 15 in the third quarter, but the Golden Rams prevailed and won 74-57. SHC falls to 1-5 and 0-1 in Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) play while ASU improves to 3-2 and 1-0 in the SIAC.

Redshirt junior guard Yolanda Nelson led the game with 19 points, five rebounds, two assists and two steals. Albany State was led by Chelsea Hill, who had 15 points and two rebounds.
