MOBILE, Ala. – The Spring Hill College women's basketball team suffered a conference loss at home 57-48 to Fort Valley State on Saturday evening at the Arthur R. Outlaw Recreation Center.

The Badgers were outscored 13-10 in the first quarter but matched the Wildcats at 16 points scored in the second, leaving FVSU with a 29-26 lead at the halftime break. Spring Hill scored 14 points in the third quarter while holding Fort Valley State to six. The Wildcats overcame the Badgers in the fourth quarter (22-8) and won the game 57-48.

Yolanda Nelson led the game with 16 points, three assists, two rebounds and two steals. She also tallied a career-high 10 free throw attempts while going 6-10. FVSU was led by Diamond Jones, who recorded 13 points, seven assists, six steals and two rebounds.
