Spring Hill sweeps Tuskegee in regular season closer

MOBILE, Ala. – The Spring Hill College volleyball team swept Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) opponent Tuskegee, 3-0 (25-5, 25-5, 25-11), in its regular season closer on Friday night at the Arthur R. Outlaw Recreation Center.
 
The Badgers did not allow more than five points from the Golden Tigers in the first two sets of play. In three sets, Spring Hill never gave up the lead. The victory marked six straight seasons of undefeated conference play for SHC.
 
Led by redshirt junior opposite side Linnea Beger with 11 kills, SHC recorded 53 total while holding Tuskegee to 11. Redshirt junior Taylor Fontenelle had four aces out of the Badgers' 13 and led the defense with six digs. Redshirt junior setter Grace Harris helped the Badgers offense with a match-leading 11 assists.
 
With the win, the Badgers clinched the No. 1 seed in the 2022 Cricket Wireless SIAC Volleyball Championship. The tournament will be held in the Arthur R. Outlaw Recreation Center Nov. 10-12. The tournament bracket will be revealed later this week.
