MOBILE, Ala. – The Spring Hill College volleyball team swept Benedict, 3-0, in the quarterfinal round of the Cricket SIAC Women's Volleyball Championship at the Arthur R. Outlaw Recreation Center on Thursday.

In the opening set, Spring Hill went on three scoring runs to overcome Benedict (25-11, 25-13, 25-12) and win 25-11. The Badgers stormed ahead to a 17-7 lead in set two, followed by a late scoring run, led by
Jaylyne Bell that extended the lead to 21-11. Spring Hill went on to take set two 25-13 over Benedict. SHC jumped ahead early in set three, taking an 8-2 lead. Later in the set,
Taylor Fontenelle recorded three service aces in a seven-point scoring run and extended the Badgers' lead to 19-6. Spring Hill won the set 25-12 and completed the three-set sweep of Benedict to advance to the SIAC Championship semifinal match.
