Spring Hill falls to No. 21 UWF

PENSACOLA, Fla. – The Spring Hill College men's soccer team fell 1-4 to No. 21 West Florida at the UWF Soccer Complex on Saturday.
 
In the first half, Spring Hill held the nationally-ranked Argonauts to one goal. UWF scored two more times in the second half before Hugo Frivold, who was assisted by Alexandre Carneiro, netted a goal in the 81^st minute to cut the West Florida lead to 1-3. The Argonauts scored one more time before the 90-minute mark and the Badgers fell 1-4. SHC Goalkeeper Gino Gandzior made a career-high six saves while facing a career-high 29 shots while going the distance. Carneiro notched an assist while taking a season-high four shots.

"West Florida was head and shoulders better than us tonight and you have to accept it. We had 10 underclassmen starting today, and I hope that they saw what being a consistent top program in the country looks like. It is very humbling, but we will be back on the field on Monday and will look forward to next weekend. We still have an opportunity to play in the post season and I can't wait to see who is up for the challenge." 
 
Up Next
The Badgers return home this weekend to host Mississippi College (10/21) and Delta State (10/23) in their final two regular season matches of the year.
