Bobcats bash Badgers, 4-0

MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. (September 4, 2021) – The Spring Hill College (SHC) women's soccer team opened the 2021 regular season on Saturday night with a 4-0 non-conference loss to the Georgia College Bobcats at Bobcat Field.

The Bobcats (1-0) opened the scoring in the 37th minute when Morgan Amrozowicz scored via an assist from Becca Morris and later benefited from an SHC own-goal in the 42nd minute.

Cassie Balzano made it 3-0 in favor of the home team in the 60th minute off an entry from Aralyn Everett and with 43 seconds left on the clock Ellie Watson poked in the final goal of the night with an assist from Alyssa Bergamini.

Badger starting keeper Anna Brunner (0-1) took the loss in her 73 minutes in goal while Hannah Linss finished the final 17 minutes for SHC. Brunner made 6 saves and Linss made a stop as the SHC keepers faced 35 shots and 11 corner kicks.

For the Bobcats, Kate Richardson (1-0) took the win with 2 saves in 72 minutes and Annie Garner had no saves over her 17 minutes of action as SHC got off just 2 shots and 1 corner kick.

The Badgers (0-1) will remain in Milledgeville for a non-conference match with Florida Southern College Moccasins (2-0) in the final day of the Bobcat Kickoff Classic at Bobcat Field.
