TUSKEGEE, Ala. – The Spring Hill College (SHC) softball team earned wins in both games of a non-conference doubleheader at the Tuskegee University Golden Tigers on Wednesday afternoon by the scores of 8-3 and 14-5.
Senior Badger starter
Hannah Brenton (7-4) allowed five hits with three strikeouts and no walks to the Tigers (3-12) while the SHC offense tallied 12 hits, two walks and three strikeouts versus Ayriana Stoneback (2-5) of Tuskegee.
Third baseman
Delaney Thomas had two hits, a sacrifice fly and three RBI while 2
nd baseman
Addison Grundmeyer enjoyed a 3-for-4 contest. Right fielder
Carlisle Jamison ripped a triple to right in the 6
th inning and shortstop
Hannah Fillmore belted a double to center in the 1
st inning.
SHC freshman starter
Olivia Indorf (7-3) allowed a 4-run 1
st inning, but settled down over the next three frames to earn the win with five hits allowed, a strikeout and two walks in 4.0 innings as
Morgan Kramer closed out the 5
th inning by facing just four batters with one hit allowed.
Fillmore lassoed three hits including another double and a 3-run homer for a 6-RBI outing while Kramer also smacked a dinger for a 2-hit and 3-RBI performance at the plate.
SHC earned a total of 11 hits, eight walks, and one strikeout versus Iyana Smith (0-4) who went 4.0 innings and Stonebeck who returned for the 5
th inning.
The Badgers (14-9) will host the Mississippi College Choctaws (12-11) in a doubleheader at Murray Field beginning at 2 p.m. on Tuesday.
