Badgers snuff out Dragons

JACKSON, Tenn. – The Spring Hill College (SHC) Badgers baseball team swept a doubleheader away from the Lane College Dragons on Monday afternoon in The Ballpark at Jackson, dominating the opening game 25-8 and winning the final contest 13-2.
 
Badger center fielder Joseph Guidry put the first pitch of the ballgame out of left field to get the day started and things only got worse from there for the Dragons (7-12). Seven Badgers enjoyed multiple hits as SHC racked up 24 hits paced by Guidry with four hits and three RBI, and infielder Norris McClure with three doubles and three RBI.
 
Conner Ingram went 2.0 innings in the start, allowing just one hit with two walks and three strikeouts. Chance Shell (1-0) picked up the win with 3.0 innings of middle relief with one hit allowed, six strikeouts and no walks.
 
Colin Millar (1-0) pitched 4.0 innings for the win in Game 2, allowing just six hits with two walks and six strikeouts. Designated hitter Mason Bonnaffons had two hits with a triple and two RBI while 1st baseman Walker Imwalle added two hits with a double and four RBI and 2nd baseman Frankie Timphony had three hits with a double and an RBI.
 
The Badgers (7-10) will host the 13th-ranked University of West Florida (UWF) Argonauts (20-5) on Tuesday at 5 p.m. at historic Stan Galle Field.
