MOBILE, Ala. – The Spring Hill College (SHC) women's basketball team suffered a 57-38 loss to the Miles College Golden Bears on Sunday afternoon at the Arthur R. Outlaw Recreation Center.
Ariel Thompson paced the Badgers with 7 points and 9 rebounds as SHC shot 25.6% (10-39) from the floor and 25% (4-16) from 3-point distance. The Badgers also hurt themselves by shooting just 56% (14-25) from the foul line and committing 32 turnovers to 16 steals by Miles, leading to 28 points for the Golden Bears off turnovers.
Katrice Jackson led the Bears with 8 points and 13 rebounds as Miles shot 26% (19-73) from the field and 22.7% (5-22) from 3-point range. The Bears (6-11) shot 63.6% (14-22) from the free throw line and lost only 19 turnovers to 8 steals by the Badgers.
Miles won the rebounding war 50-26 under the goals.
The Badgers (1-5) will close out the shortened 2021 home schedule with a 2-game series with the Tuskegee University Golden Tigers on Saturday and Sunday at 2 p.m. both days in the Arthur R. Outlaw Recreation Center.
