MOBILE, Ala. (November 5, 2021) – The Spring Hill College (SHC) volleyball team finished its 2021 regular season schedule on Friday night with a 3-0 (25-6, 25-5, 25-15) sweep of Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) foe the Tuskegee University Golden Tigers at the Arthur R. Outlaw Recreation Center.
The Tigers (5-14, 5-12 SIAC) took a 2-0 lead in the first set, but from then on it was all Badgers as SHC took a 12-2 lead and never looked back.
Spring Hill built a .444 (38-6-72) attack percentage with 33 assists, 10 aces, 37 digs, and six (2-8) blocks. Senior outside hitter
Allison Weimer led the Badgers with 11 kills while setter
Courtney Faulkner handed out 13 assists and four aces. Libero
Taylor Fontenelle collected 13 digs. Senior middle hitter
Kassandra Fairly had six kills, an assist, two aces and two block assists and senior defensive specialist
Hailee Richard had a kill with five digs and nine receptions.
Tuskegee was held to a -.088 (11-17-68) attack percentage with 10 assists, one ace, 23 digs, and no blocks.
The Badgers (26-5, 17-0 SIAC) have clinched the top seed in the 2021 SIAC Championship Tournament to be held November 15-17 the Rock Hill Sports & Events Center in Rock Hill, S.C. against a first round opponent yet to be determined.
