BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (November 11, 2021) – The Spring Hill College (SHC) men's basketball team suffered a 86-69 exhibition loss to the NCAA Division I Samford University Bulldogs on Thursday night at Pete Hannah Arena.
 
The Bulldogs (2-0) used a late 1^st half run to pull out to 50-35 lead at the intermission and kept the Badgers at arm's length for most of the second half. The Badger second half effort kept the game close as Samford managed just a 36-34 advantage over the final 20 minutes.
 
SHC shot 45.3% (24-53) overall and 33.3% (6-18) from 3-point distance while the Bulldogs shot 43.3% (29-67) from the floor and 32.3% (10-31) from long distance. The difference in the contest came in the turnovers as SHC lost 33 turnovers with 19 steals by Samford for 37 points off turnovers.
 
The Badgers next travel to New Orleans, La. on Saturday to face the University of New Orleans (UNO) Privateers (0-1) at 3 p.m. in Lakefront Arena in the third of three pre-season exhibition contests for SHC this season.
