Badger baseball takes 6-3 win over Tritons

MOBILE, Ala. – The Spring Hill College (SHC) baseball team bounced back to salvage game three of a 3-game weekend non-conference series with the Eckerd College Tritons by the score of 6-3 on Sunday afternoon at historic Stan Galle Field.

The Tritons (3-4) trailed 3-1 after four innings, but cut the deficit to 3-2 in the 8th inning off a sacrifice fly. SHC responded in the bottom of the frame when left fielder Cade Simpson brought in shortstop Antonio Felix with a single through the left side and right fielder Grayson Williams lifted a sacrifice fly to right to plate second baseman Frankie Timphony. Catcher Daniel Seres then added the sixth and final Badger run of the day with a single to center that scored third baseman Reis Trager.

AJ Fell (1-0) went six innings for SHC and allowed just five hits with a walk and five strikeouts while Kyle Durham (1-1) of Eckerd lasted five innings with four hits, three walks and two strikeouts.

Timphony and centerfielder Joseph Guidry both collected two hits at the plate with Guidry's safeties being a double and a triple. Right fielder Mikey Burke of the Tritons was 3-for-4 with an RBI.

The Badgers (3-4) will next host the University of Montevallo Falcons (5-1) in a non-conference game on Wednesday afternoon beginning at 12 p.m. on Stan Galle Field.
