Tritons stick it to Badgers in DH sweep

MOBILE, Ala. – The Spring Hill College (SHC) baseball team opened the 2020 home season with a pair of non-conference home losses to the Eckerd College Tritons on Saturday afternoon at historic Stan Galle Field by the scores of 11-3 and 7-1.
 
In the first game, Badger starter Logan Clark (0-1) allowed seven hits with a walk and three strikeouts in five innings of work while Robin Allen (1-1) of Eckerd went 4.1 innings of a seven-inning game, giving up six hits with three walks and five strikeouts.
 
Badger second baseman Frankie Timphony had a double with an RBI and catcher Daniel Seres crushed a line drive solo homer out of left field for his first dinger of 2020 in the 4th inning.
 
In game two, Conner Ingram (0-1) went 5.1 innings with five hits, two walks and five strikeouts before bowing to RJ DelRio who lasted 1.2 innings with four hits allowed. Riley Spearman finished the final innings with two hits, a walk and a strikeout.
 
Andrew Shaw (1-0) went seven strong innings for the Tritons and allowed just three hits and a walk with seven strikeouts.
 
SHC right fielder Grayson Williams had two hits with an RBI in the nightcap while third baseman Reis Trager picked up two hits and Timphony added a second double to his day's effort.
 
The Badgers (2-4) and the Tritons (3-3) will face off again on Sunday beginning at 12 p.m. on Stan Galle Field.
