Badgers finish 4-game sweep of UMSL with wild 15-6 win

MOBILE, Ala. – The Spring Hill College (SHC) baseball team finished a 4-game series sweep of the University of Missouri – St. Louis Tritons on Sunday with a wild 15-6 victory at historic Stan Galle Field.
 
The Badgers withstood falling behind 6-2 in the 4th inning and committing four errors over the course of the contest to rally back and score five runs in the 5th inning and add eight more runs over the next three frames for the win.
 
Five Badger pitchers combined for the victory with RJ DelRio (1-0) registering the win in two innings of work with just one hit allowed along with one strikeout.
 
SHC second baseman Frankie Timphony enjoyed a 4-for-6 outing with two RBI while designated hitter Daniel Rodriguez was 4-for-5 with two runs driven in. Third baseman Mason Bonnaffons drove in four runs off two hits. Catcher Daniel Seres went 2-for-3 with two walks and a RBI.
 
For the Tritons (2-5), six pitchers allowed 16 hits, four walks and five hit batters with 11 strikeouts.
 
The Badgers (9-6) will host the University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH) Chargers (7-5) at Stan Galle Field in a non-conference doubleheader beginning at noon on Wednesday.
